The air in the grand hall shifted as the focus turned from business to the heart of the home. The men looked from one face to another, waiting for an answer, unaware that the topic on the table was the future of the family's eldest son and the plan to finally see him settled.
"Bebe mentioned that Prisha wants Reyansh to get married now."
"Bhabhi, you know Reyansh won't agree," Ashwin (Reyansh's elder uncle) said. "He has already stated that he never wants to get married"
"But things can't go on like this," Vishant (Reyansh's younger uncle) added. "If we all try to convince him together, he will surely agree"
"Do you really think Reyansh will ever listen to us?" Shivani (Reyansh's younger uncle's wife) asked.
While they were in the middle of their conversation, Reyansh elder uncle wife arrived with tea and breakfast. She carried a tray laden with snacks as well. Having overheard their discussion on her way in, she set the tray down and joined them, settling into the circle.
"Of course he will," Ahana said confidently. "We will find some way or the other to make it happen."
"Alright, don't you all worry about it," Bebe added. "We'll handle it."
The room was buzzing with talk when he appeared a carefree soul, completely unfazed by the world. From his vantage point on the first floor, he had spent the last few minutes overhearing every word echoing through the hall. This was Ishaan, Reyansh's younger cousin and the son of his elder uncle.
Though only twenty, his six-foot height and athletic physique honed by years at the gym gave him a commanding presence that defied his age. He looked sharp in a crisp white shirt layered under an open denim jacket, paired with blue jeans and a silver watch gleaming on his wrist. With an easy smile, he walked over to his grandmother, pulling her into a warm hug before settling down beside her.
"Do you know what news I've brought, Bebe?" Ishaan asked with a mischievous grin.
"Reyu is coming home today," Bebe replied calmly.
Ishaan's jaw dropped. "How do you always know? This isn't fair, you find out everything!"
Bebe chuckled softly. "I am much older than you all. I have the experience."
"Is it true, Ishaan?" Prisha asked, her eyes lighting up. "Is Reyansh really coming back?"
"Yes, my dear Badi Maa," Ishaan replied warmly. "Bhaiya is on his way."
"Then today, I will cook all of his favorite dishes with my own hands for my child," Prisha said, her voice filled with motherly affection.
The news of Reyansh arrival filled Prisha with a joy so profound it was almost overwhelming. Her heart raced, and a radiant smile took over her face she was absolutely over the moon. After all, why wouldn't she be? Her love for Reyansh knew no bounds she was his mother, and he was her entire world.
Suddenly, Reyansh Bua stormed into the room, her presence instantly turning the joyful air cold. She had never been able to mask her disdain for Prisha. Marching straight toward her, she snapped, her voice cutting through the chatter like a knife.
That's enough, Prisha. What is your plan to have the our son go to bed hungry yet again? I am warning you, stay away from the kitchen today. The cook will handle everything. I want to ensure my nephew actually eats tonight, we both know that if you're the one cooking, he won't even touch the plate.
Prisha felt a sharp sting of pain in her chest at those words, but she remained silent. With her eyes brimming with tears, she turned away and hurried to her room. The moment she was inside, she clicked the door shut and broke down into tears, finally letting her silent sobs echo in the emptiness of the room.
The cheerful atmosphere that had filled the hall just moments ago vanished, leaving behind a heavy suffocating silence. No one found the strength to say a word the weight of the past was so thick that it felt easier to just walk away. One by one, they retreated to their rooms in total silence.
This wasn't just a simple argument it was the haunting legacy of the family past resurfacing yet again. Between the Bua's deep seated resentment and the unspoken history that bound them all, everyone had been silenced long ago. They had learned to live with the ghosts of their yesterday, knowing that speaking up wouldn't change a thing. The outcome was always painfully the same.
Even Reyansh Bua, satisfied with the silence she had enforced eventually turned on her heel. With a final, cold glance at the empty hall she retreated to her own room, leaving the lingering tension behind like a heavy fog. One by one, the doors clicked shut and the house fell into an uneasy breathless quiet.
As the evening shadows stretched long and thin across the silent corridors, the entire house seemed to hold its breath. Reyansh was due in only a few hours. In a cold, clinical sense, his Bua's warning had been a reflection of a brutal truth Reyansh didn't just dislike Prisha's efforts, he utterly rejected them. To him, her presence in the kitchen wasn't an act of love, but a ghost he chose to ignore.
To him, she was an invisible presence, someone he had long ago erased from his life. He treated her with a chilling indifference, as if she simply did not exist. He wouldn't offer her a single word, a glance, or even the dignity of his anger he lived as if she were a ghost haunting the halls of his home.
Yet, a mother's heart is a stubborn thing. Despite the inevitable rejection he would offer, Prisha devotion remained unshaken. Taking advantage of the eerie quiet where the family remained locked away in their rooms like strangers she slipped into the kitchen. She knew the risk, she knew his coldness, yet she began to cook, driven by a love that refused to be silenced by his monumental indifference.
Prisha was lost in her work, carefully preparing every dish that Reyansh loved. Just then, Ishaan strolled into the kitchen to grab a glass of water, noticing the delicious aroma filling the room.
"Badi Maa, are you only cooking for your favorite son, or is there something for me too?" Ishaan asked teasingly.
Prisha smiled warmly. "How could I ever forget my prince? I'm making all your favorites as well."
"Really? Because I don't see them," Ishaan replied, continuing to pull her leg.
"You love Matar Paneer and Chole Bhature too, don't you?" Prisha reminded him.
"I do," Ishaan admitted, "but it looks like everything here is just for Bhaiya Matar Paneer, Puri, Sewai, Chole Bhature... and I even saw his favorite chocolate ice cream in the fridge just now!"
Prisha looked at him with a playful glare. "So, you think I do nothing for you, my child?"
"Nope!" Ishaan joked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"So, I'm a bad mother then?" she asked.
"Oh, come on, Badi Maa! I was just joking, you're getting all serious," Ishaan said, his tone softening. "But... what if Bua comes here and sees all this?"
Prisha's expression turned firm. "Let her. I hear something or the other from her every time anyway. I'll listen again, but I won't stop doing things for my son."
Ishaan grinned and gave her a quick side-hug. "Hayee... if only every mother was like you! Love you, Badi Maa."
"Love you too, mera baccha," Prisha replied gently. "Listen, I am cooking for everyone, and your favorites are right there. You better eat well. And never think that I don't love you I will always be here for you."
"Badi Maa, you're getting serious again! I told you, I was just joking," Ishaan said, laughing.
Prisha winked at him. "I was joking, too," she said, letting out a soft laugh as she got back to her cooking.
"In that case, I'll just sit here for a while and munch on some dry fruits," Ishaan said, settling down on the kitchen counter.
"Wait, beta," Prisha replied, reaching for a jar. "Let me take them out and give them to you properly."
The hours slipped away unnoticed, and before they knew it, the clock struck eight. The kitchen was filled with the rich, lingering aroma of the feast Prisha had painstakingly prepared. Every dish was ready, a silent testament to her love.
At Prisha request, Ishaan had taken charge of the secrecy, he had strictly instructed the family cook to keep her involvement hidden from everyone. Throughout the evening, Ishaan had remained by her side like a loyal guardian, ready to deflect any unwanted visitors or awkward questions. Fortunately, the need for an excuse never arose. The hallways remained quiet as the rest of the family stayed tucked away in their own rooms, oblivious to the secret preparations.
With the mission accomplished, a weary but satisfied Prisha quietly retired to her room, leaving the kitchen behind. Ishaan, too, headed back to his own space, both of them waiting for the moment Reyansh would finally arrive.
A short while later, the sound of a car pulling up outside echoed through the silent house. The headlights swept across the driveway before the engine finally cut off. Inside the hall, the atmosphere shifted instantly. The entire family was already gathered there, their eyes fixed on the main door.
Suddenly, the main door swung open, and a tall, commanding figure stepped inside. Standing at 6'2", the 24 year's old was a sight to behold. His striking blue eyes scanned the room, framed by a sharp, well-defined jawline that gave him an air of effortless sophistication. He looked impeccably sharp in a crisp white shirt paired with a black suit and polished black shoes, a silver watch gleaming on his wrist.
Despite his striking presence the kind that made it impossible to look away there wasn't a trace of arrogance in his demeanor. Instead, his face reflected a sense of calm and decency, making him appear remarkably composed and well-mannered to anyone who saw him.
Reyansh stepped into the hall, where the entire family was waiting Ashwin, Vishant, Ahana, Shivani, Prisha, Ishaan, Bebe, and his Bua, Deeksha. With a calm and composed expression, he walked over to Bebe and Deeksha, bowing his head to seek their blessings. He didn't touch anyone else's feet, nor did he acknowledge the rest of the family. He didn't even cast a single glance toward Prisha.
Watching this, Ishaan felt a pang of sadness for Prisha. Wanting to break the tension, he hurried over and pulled Reyansh into a tight hug. Reyansh face finally broke into a genuine smile as he embraced his younger brother.
"Bhai, where were you? You have no idea how much I've missed you," Ishaan said as they pulled apart.
"I missed you too," Reyansh replied warmly. "To be honest, you and my Chotu Sardar are the only ones I truly missed here."
"I know, Bhai," Ishaan smiled. "He should be here soon, he just got back from school and was finishing his homework."
"It's alright, I'll go and meet him myself later," Reyansh said.
The family was overjoyed just to have him there. Reyansh rarely visited home, usually only when there was village work or his responsibilities as the Sarpanch required his attention. Otherwise, his life was a constant loop between his office and his farmhouse.
While everyone was busy with Reyansh, a five year old boy appeared at the top of the stairs. He looked adorable as he began to descend carefully, clutching a skateboard in his small hands. No one noticed him in the excitement. Once he reached the bottom, he gave his skateboard a little push, and it began to roll across the floor.
Prisha was deeply hurt by Reyansh coldness, and her vision blurred as she turned to head back to her room. Lost in her pain, she didn't see the skateboard rolling toward her. As her foot slipped, she gasped, losing her balance completely.
In a split second, Reyansh instincts kicked in. He reached out and caught her by the arms, pulling her firmly against him to stop the fall. Shaken by the sudden scare, Prisha hands instinctively gripped his arms for support. For a brief moment, the distance between them vanished, she just held onto her son, trembling slightly from the shock, while Reyansh held her steady, ensuring she was safe.
"Are you okay?" Reyansh asked, his voice steady but carrying a hint of concern.
"Yes... I'm fine," Prisha replied, still catching her breath from the sudden scare.
Once he was sure she had regained her balance, Reyansh carefully helped her stand properly and then stepped back, letting go of her.
A wave of relief swept through the hall. Seeing Reyansh save Prisha and check on her, even if briefly, brought a glimmer of joy to everyone hearts everyone, except for Deeksha Bua.
Shortly after, the tension settled, and the family began to disperse. Ashwin, Vishant, Ahana, Shivani, and Prisha all headed back to their respective rooms. Now, only Deeksha, Bebe, Ishaan, and Reyansh remained in the hall, along with the little boy. His name was Kishu or at least, that's what everyone lovingly called him at home, though it wasn't his real name.
The family settled onto the sofas, but Reyansh walked over to little Kishu instead.
"So, Chote Sardar ji," Reyansh said softly, looking at the boy. "If you do things like this, it creates trouble, doesn't it? What if something had happened to your Badi Maa just now?"
Kishu looked down, pouting slightly. "Solly Ruu Bhaiya... it was a mistake."
Reyansh's expression softened instantly. "It's okay. I've brought some chocolates for you."
"Yay! Thank you, Ruu Bhaiya!" Kishu chirped. "Oh, speaking of chocolate, did you know? Badi Maa made chocolate ice cream today because you were coming! It's in the fridge. I already had some, and now I'll eat more with you."
Ishaan, listening to this, thought to himself with a sigh of relief, "Thank God he only saw the ice cream being made and not the rest of the food. Otherwise, he would have spilled that secret too"
Reyansh didn't scold Kishu, instead, he calmed himself down and said, "Alright then, you can have the whole bowl. I'll give it to you."
"No, Ruu Bhaiya!" Kishu insisted seriously. "That's your ice cream. Do you have any idea how much hard work goes into making it?"
Reyansh couldn't help but chuckle at the little boy's tone and wisdom. "Oh really, Kishu ji? Tell me then, exactly how much hard work does it take?"
"A lot!" Kishu wide-eyed. "So you have to eat it, and you have to share it with me."
"And what if I don't share?" Reyansh teased.
Kishu crossed his arms. "Then I won't let you play with my toys!"
Reyansh laughed and picked him up. "Okay, Kishu ji. I will share my ice cream with you, and you share your toys with me. Deal?"
With a lighthearted smile, Reyansh settled onto the sofa, pulling Kishu into his lap. He continued his conversation with Bebe, Deeksha Bua, and Ishaan, but subtly signaled to one of the attendants waiting nearby. Understanding the silent command, the man bowed slightly and hurried toward the kitchen, soon returning with the chilled chocolate ice cream. He placed it elegantly on the table before them.
Reyansh handed the first bowl to Kishu.
"Why aren't you eating, Ruu Bhaiya?" Kishu asked, looking up at him with wide, curious eyes.
"You go ahead, betu," Reyansh replied gently, stroking the kishu hair. "I've just arrived after so long. Let me catch up with everyone first, and then I'll join you."
A strange silence filled the sprawling hall of the drawing room. Deeksha, who had been sitting in the corner of the sofa observing Reyansh's exhaustion for quite some time, stood up slowly and slid closer to him. Her face wore a mask of feigned concern, but her mind was preoccupied with a single scheme, making her best friend daughter the mistress of this house.
"Reyansh," Deeksha said, her voice dripping with excessive softness, "Don't you think you should start thinking about marriage a bit seriously now? How long will you manage everything alone? Having a partner would bring some peace."
Reyansh closed his heavy eyes and took a deep breath. He knew this was an old tactic, but like every other time, he had the same answer ready. Without looking up, he said in a tired but firm voice, "No, Bua, I don't want to. And please, I don't want to discuss this anymore...I don't like these talks of marriage."
Bebe, sitting at the other end of the hall watching all this, was slightly puzzled. She couldn't understand why Deeksha who had always hated Prisha was so passionately pushing for the very thing Prisha had first desired. It was Prisha, after all, who had first brought up the topic of Reyansh marriage. Although Bebe had many questions, she thought it best to suppress them for now. She wondered if perhaps Deeksha had changed for the sake of the family's well being.
Bebe walked slowly toward Reyansh and placed her trembling hand on his head. "Son...won't you listen to your old grandmother at least this much? If a daughter-in-law enters the house, the vibrance will return, and perhaps then everything will become right again."
Reyansh looked at his grandmother with sorrowful eyes. There was no bitterness in his tone, only a painful truth. "Dadi, why are you emotionally blackmailing me now? You all know how little time I have."
He stood up from sofa and began to pace the hall, every step reflecting his exhaustion. "I am the CEO and have to manage all the responsibilities of the office, and then I have to fulfill all the duties of being the Village Head. Not only that, but I also have to visit the company in Paris every month. Everything has to be done on schedule."
He stopped and looked into Bebe eyes, showing concern for that unknown girl rather than anger. "Now you tell me, Dadi, how can I get married amidst all this? I won't be able to care for my wife. I barely find time for myself, so why should I ruin an innocent person's life? She will ask for my time, and all I will have to give is work. Wouldn't that be an injustice to her?"
Reyansh's words cast a blanket of silence over the hall once more. Deeksha had no answer to this concern and Bebe eyes welled up with tears, seeing how mature her grandson had become.
Ishaan, who had been sitting quietly on the sofa eating ice cream with Kishu, knew exactly how this conversation was going to go. But Ishaan wasn't one to let a serious moment pass without a bit of his trademark mischief.
"It's no big deal, Bhaiya," Ishaan piped up. "We'll all stay with Bhabhi during the day, and you can give her all your time at night."
Bebe and Deeksha couldn't help but smile inwardly at his wit.
However, little Kishu wasn't about to stay quiet either. He chimed in with pure innocence, "But Bhaiya, everyone sleeps at night, right? If Bhabhi and Bhaiya stay awake together, what will they even do? In movies, I've seen people go on dates and wander around, but how will Bhaiya go on a date at night?"
Now Ishaan, Bebe, and Deeksha were all suppressed under a layer of smiles.
Reyansh, hearing this, suddenly remembered the previous night how he had stayed up late just to look after Nisha. A faint, knowing smile touched his lips at the memory.
Just then, the rest of the family walked in, having overheard Ishaan and Kishu's banter. They understood the situation immediately.
Ashwin and Ahana quickly shushed Ishaan. "Son, don't try to be too smart," Ashwin said, reminding Ishaan that Reyansh was his elder brother.
Meanwhile, Vishant and Shivani took the ice cream away from Kishu. "Come on, kishu, it's time for dinner now. And don't forget, you're only five years old!"
"But what did I do, Mumma? Papa?" Kishu asked in his most adorable, high pitched voice, making a cute face.
"Nothing, my baby," Shivani said, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.
The family had gathered because it was time for dinner. Bebe announced to everyone, "Alright, everyone move to the table, it's time to eat."
As they all sat down to dinner, one person was missing. Prisha wasn't there, as she never sat down to share a meal with the rest of the family.
After that, everyone begins eating. Reyansh starts eating the food prepared by Prisha, seeing this, Ishaan is filled with joy. He secretly starts recording a video to send to Prisha. He sends it immediately, and Prisha watches it right away, feeling a deep sense of happiness. Despite her longing, she doesn't leave her room to watch Reyansh eat in person, fearing that if he spots her, he might suspect that she was the one who cooked the meal.
While eating, Reyansh calls the cook and asks, "Who made this food?"
The cook, having been coached by Ishaan beforehand, replies, "I made it, sir."
Reyansh looks at him skeptically and says, "I see. So you made all my favorite dishes specifically for me? You're new here how would you know exactly what I like?"
Bebe quickly intervenes to handle the situation. "I told him what to prepare," she says. "If I weren't so old, I would have cooked it myself, but since I can't, I gave him the instructions on what to make."
Bebe had realized that Prisha was the real chef behind the meal, and she successfully managed to deflect Reyansh's suspicion.
Looking at Bebe with deep affection, Reyansh says softly, "Bebe, please don't talk like that. You are everything to me, don't ever say such things again."
After that, everyone finishes their dinner and retires to their respective rooms. A peaceful silence settles over the palace once again.
When everyone had left and a profound silence descended over the entire house, Prisha headed to the kitchen. She served some food for herself and walked quietly toward her room. As she opened the door, her eyes immediately fell upon the bed.
She set the food aside and pulled a stool from the corner of the room, placing it right beside the bed. Just like every other day, she had come with the intent of sharing countless stories with him. She began to eat, talking to him about one thing after another.
However, there was no reply from the other side. The room remained utterly still, with only Prisha voice echoing through the silence. Despite this, she did not stop talking. Looking at him.
"Na ji, don't you ever feel like feeding your wife with your own hands? There's a limit to everything... at the very least, you could sit and eat with me, couldn't you? But no, all you want to do is sleep. One shouldn't sleep this much."
There was a glimmer of hope mixed with a slight sense of grievance in Prisha eyes, but there wasn't a single movement from the person lying on the bed. He was none other than Prisha's husband and Reyansh's father, who had been in a coma for many years and had never regained consciousness. Despite his silence, he remained a part of every conversation for Prisha.
Prisha continued to eat, talking all the while as if she were listening to the very depths of his silence. Once she finished her meal, she took her plate back to the kitchen. The house help was still there, busy washing the dishes. Without saying a word, Prisha placed the plate down, left the kitchen, and returned to the quiet sanctuary of her room.
She gently lay down on the bed beside her husband. Holding him in a peaceful embrace, she began to talk to him once more sharing the weariness of her day and the feelings of her heart. Then, still holding him close, she didn't even realize when her eyes grew heavy, and she drifted into a deep sleep right there by his side.
Just as Bebe was about to retire to her room for the night, Deeksha suddenly arrived. She immediately brought up the topic of Reyansh marriage, which left Bebe slightly surprised. She looked at Deeksha and asked, "Since when did you start agreeing with Prisha?"
Deeksha dismissed the idea instantly, saying, "Maa, I have nothing to do with her. I am going to get Reyansh married to my best friend's daughter."
Bebe asked doubtfully, "But do you think Reyansh will agree?"
Deeksha replied with full confidence, "He will Maa, he definitely will. I'll tell you an idea tomorrow morning about what you need to do. Just be ready."
Putting her grandson happiness above all else, Bebe said, "I can do anything for my grandson's happiness. Just tell me, the girl is good, right?"
"Yes, yes Maa, she is a very lovely girl," Deeksha assured her with a smile.
Bebe concluded the conversation by saying, "Alright then, just let me know what needs to be done, and I will do it."
Bebe agreed to the plan solely because her grandson's happiness meant everything to her.
After that, Bebe also went to her room and fell asleep. Meanwhile, Deeksha too retired to her room for the night. Soon, almost everyone in the palace was fast asleep, except for Reyansh.
On the other hand, Nisha condition had been poor since morning. She had been crying and rightfully so, as her first love, Aarush, had betrayed her so deeply. However, she had stopped crying by now because she had to attend to her professional work.
In the meantime, her parents called to say that they would need another week to return due to some urgent work. Nisha agreed. Afterward, she opened her laptop and began checking some files while also working on creating new ones.
Nisha's phone rang, and she answered it immediately.
"Hello," Nisha said.
"Jai Hind, Ma'am!" the Inspector's voice came from the other side.
"Jai Hind, speak," Nisha replied in a serious tone.
"Ma'am, are we really conducting the raid tomorrow?" the Inspector asked.
"Yes, absolutely. Is that even a question? I am 100% sure that we will find exactly what we are looking for there," Nisha said with complete confidence.
"But Ma'am, how are you so sure?" There was a hint of surprise in the Inspector's voice.
"Because I have thoroughly investigated his other locations, and found nothing there," Nisha replied sensibly.
"Without conducting a raid? How, Ma'am?" the Inspector asked in astonishment.
"I went to his factory posing as a worker and even visited his farmhouse, I've checked everything," Nisha said, leaving the Inspector stunned.
"But Ma'am, what if they don't allow us to do our job properly?" the Inspector questioned, hesitating slightly.
"If they act up or obstruct our investigation, just encounter them. I want these people in hell where they belong," Nisha's tone turned as cold as ice.
"Okay Ma'am, but what time do we leave?" the Inspector asked.
"7:00 AM," Nisha stated clearly.
"Ma'am, so early?" The Inspector was a bit taken aback.
"Yes, there should be no delay in professional work," Nisha replied firmly.
"Okay Ma'am, Jai Hind!" the Inspector said, saluting.
"Jai Hind," Nisha said and ended the call.
Nisha hung up the phone and took a deep breath. Tomorrow's raid wasn't just a routine operation, it was the final chance to take down those criminals right in their own home. She fixed her gaze on her laptop screen and threw herself into the mission planning.
First, Nisha opened the Digital Blueprint of the house. Since she had never been there before, she examined the layout of every wall and room with extreme precision. She marked every exit and entry point on the screen to ensure no one could escape through a back door or balcony. Every window and possible hidden passage was highlighted with a red circle.
Next, she pulled up the Bio-data files of the suspects. She scanned their criminal histories and contacts once more. She mapped out a complete "Chain of Command" in her mind, deciding which officer would strike from which direction and what their positions would be inside the unfamiliar house.
Nisha specifically marked the rooms where she most expected to find evidence. As the night deepened, her fingers moved swiftly across the laptop. She didn't leave her chair until the entire plan was crystal clear in her mind. Finally, she closed the laptop and shut her eyes for a moment, waiting for tomorrow's dawn.
Once Nisha closed her laptop and went to bed after preparing for the big raid, Reyansh night was far from over. He sat in his room, meticulously going through his pending emails. The workload was so heavy that the clock kept ticking forward, yet the stream of emails in his inbox showed no signs of finishing. He was carefully reading and responding to each one, as if burying himself in work was his way of suppressing the turmoil in his own mind.
Reyansh closed his laptop screen with weary eyes and sighed, saying to himself, "Alright, that's enough for today, I should get some rest now."
He went to bed, but sleep was miles away from his eyes. As soon as he lay down, his family's talk about marriage began to echo in his mind. He didn't want to get married, and there was a solid reason behind it he didn't want anyone who entered his life to suffer because of his past or his constant state of being busy. He didn't want to burden someone else's peaceful life with his own troubles.
As he was lost in these thoughts, memories of last night suddenly drifted into his mind the night he had spent in that room with Nisha. A strange expression crossed Reyansh's face, he began to think that there was a unique kind of peace with that stranger last night, but today, even in the comfort of his own home, that peace was nowhere to be found.
A question kept arising in his mind how could a stranger provide him with the kind of tranquility he hadn't been able to find in his own home for years? He also couldn't stop thinking about the fact that he had called a complete stranger his "heartbeat," and he had meant it from the bottom of his heart. The thought of Nisha felt like a balm to the turmoil in his mind. Lost in these reflections, he eventually drifted off and fell into a deep sleep.
